Wing Chun is a "no nonsense" martial art originally from the Shaolin Temples.  It is now widely practised all over the Western world and is becoming ever more popular.

It has two main principles: Conservation of energy and economy of motion.

It does not use a "strength v's strength" approach as this can be a risky strategy when dealing with larger and stronger people!

I was drawn to the Wing Chun system because of its directness and the way it uses specific shapes and angles, coupled with solid foundation stances, to produce effective techniques.

Wing Chun was originally developed by a woman in order to overcome stronger and more powerful opponents, it is therefore very direct in its approach, its most well know practitioner was the late great Bruce Lee! practicing wing chun will help develop confidence, promote increased fitness levels, develop skill, speed and power whilst maintaning self control, respect and humility. We use various training methods in order to enhance each area of our development, including line work to practise precision through repetition, movement to promote balance and correct posture/weight distribution , pad work to develop speed, power and accuracy, and work in pairs to practice the reality of combat. we also focus on the endurance element too, in order to improve fitness and stamina which are both vital to sustain and maintain energy levels throughout training and combat.

When considering combat situations, people are unpredictable and can attack you in a number of different ways.  You need to adopt the most appropriate technique for that given situation.  With that in mind, at The Wing Chun School, we are taught how to deal with real life situations as they can happen on the street.

The Wing Chun School are permanent members of The Ving Tsun Athletic Association which is the prestigious organisation formed By Great Grandmaster Ip Man himself.  Members of the Ip Ching Ving Tsun Athletic Association established by the late Grandmaster Ip Ching (son of Ip Man).  Members of the Ip Chun Wing Chun Athletic Association (son of Ip Man). Permanent Honorary members of the Ip Man Museum Fatsan China. Members of the Amateur Martial Association (AMA).

The Wing Chun School style of teaching, is what I teach and pass onto my students.
